RTA Bathroom Vanity Design the Bathroom of your Dreams without Spending a Fortune

RTA or Ready-To-Assemble Bathroom Vanities can be a great way to save money on your new bathroom or bathroom remodel. Whether you are a novice DYI homeowner or an experienced remodeler, ready-to-assemble cabinets are starting to offer the same custom look of the more expensive brand names, while still offering easy assembly and long lasting durability. There is a misconception that knockdown furniture has a shorter life span and can easily warp or bubble from water. A lot of this misconception comes from the early kinds of knockdown or ready-to-assemble furniture, such as the Ikea furniture line. A lot of that furniture is made of particleboard or fiberboard, which has a tendency of falling apart over time or having an adverse affect from water. When it comes to RTA or Ready-To-Assemble Kitchen Cabinets and Bathroom vanities that are on the market today, the majority of them have solid wood faces with solid plywood sides and backs.

This makes for a much stronger piece of furniture with a longer life span. In addition to the materials they are made of, there have been significant improvements in the way they are assembled. Most of the Ready-To-Assemble lines that are on the market now have a cam lock assembly, which only requires a screwdriver to put everything together.

Prior to the cam lock assembly, they would use a combination of staples, wood glue and screws which had a tendency to loosen or separate easily. If you have ever bought RTA cabinets or vanities from Ikea, you are well aware that each piece has to be bought separately (hinges, doors, box, drawers, etc.).

Depending on how many items you are buying, you could easily have 8-9 boxes for just one cabinet. The RTA Bathroom Vanities that are available online come complete with everything in one box. As I mentioned, the only thing that is required for assembly is a screwdriver, which makes for a faster, less complicated assembly. While the big home supply stores do carry some pre-assembled vanities in the store, most of what the sell will need to be specially ordered.

This means that in the best case scenario, you will have a 3-4 week lead time from the time you order until the time your bathroom vanity is shipped. With the RTA manufacturers and distributors, they typically stock their vanities, which means that you could have your new vanity in 1-2 weeks, and it is shipped directly to your door. Even with the cost of shipping, you can still save 20-30% versus buying your new vanity in a store. So when you are getting ready to remodel your existing bathroom or add a new one, take some time to research what RTA Bathroom Vanities can offer and the money that you can save.
